Switzerland is one of the most innovative countries in the world. For the Global Goals Thematic Week, the Swiss Pavilion will demonstrate how this applied technology can be a cornerstone of sustainable development.

Visitors will be able to engage with transferable technology designed to benefit society as a whole and achieve the SDGs. Our partners will engage with our visitors through their individual talks, workshops and panels. They will also come together with peers from the UAE and the world, paving the way to create valuable relationships.

Our focus will present a triangle between sustainable development, innovation and entrepreneurship. The EPFL EssentialTech Center is set to demonstrate success stories applied to a humanitarian context, such as a robust incubator for newborns set to withstand adverse conditions. Seedstars, the Swiss organisation supporting thousands of young tech entrepreneurs from emerging markets, will also take part by demonstrating its approach.

Furthermore, the Engineering for Humanitarian Action Partnership, an initiative of the ETH Zurich, the EPFL and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), will take part in our events. Through talks and workshops they will demonstrate how the two federal institutes of technology, including the Essential Tech Center, are being put at the service of humanitarian action.
