The Swiss Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai was honoured to be one of the hosts of Dubai Fashion Mexico. Discover the designs by Armando Takeda and Jasive Fernández.

Mexican Fashion on the Swiss red carpet

The Swiss Pavilion was pleased to host two runaways on its red carpet as part of the Dubai Fashion Mexico week within the framework of the official Tolerance and Inclusion week from 14 to 20 November. The runway shows amazed guests and visitors and set the tone for evenings that aimed to merge cultures, traditions and fashion.

The pavilion welcomed two Mexican designers Armando Takeda and Jasive Fernández. Armando Takeda presented his “hereafter” collection. In the pieces shown, sustainability was emphasized in contemporary designs with oversized finishes and capped sleeves bringing together innovation and culture. On the other hand,  Jasive Fernández  showcased her newest collection . Jasive highlights in her collections the strength and empowerment of Mexican women, while an ethical and sustainable fashion is reflected in each of her garments.


About the designers

Armando Takeda studied in Mexico, Paris and London. He collaborated as a design assistant at Alexander McQueen and Bruno Pieters, creative director of Hugo Boss, worked for Paris Fashion Week, and in 2012 began his own professional project in Mexico. Collaboration is the brand way of working, driven by the talent of artisans the artisans teach about their ancient technique, meanings, materials, usage of color, designs then the brand innovates their artifacts and merge highest quality fabrics around the world, in sight of the importance of a global market. The supply of raw materials of throughout the world enriches the tradition. They believe that working and innovating the culture together with the artisans will provide them continuous job leading to economical growth in their marginal areas and the conservation of multiple cultures. The purpose is to create desirable and sellable high fashion pieces of culture and innovation.

Jasive Fernández is partner and International Director of the Spanish brand Niza, opening markets in Europe, Asia, Arab countries, and the United States. Thanks to her entrepreneurial spirit, she took the family tradition to recently launch her own brand: Jasive. This is composed of ready-to-wear for every contemporary woman and is distinguished by its social sense to generate jobs in Mexico and empower women, especially single mothers who are part of her team. Her studies and business skills have allowed her to develop to the maximum in the fashion universe at an international level.
